Document owner: Max Pocock, Lead Consultant Operational role: Accountable health and safety owner Version: 1.0 Issued: 25 July 2026 Review due: 25 July 2027, or earlier after an incident or material work change Applies to: Managed Services Ltd, people acting for it and others affected by its work
No deadline or commercial objective takes priority over health and safety. Anyone may stop an activity they reasonably believe is unsafe.
1. Commitment
Managed Services Ltd will provide and maintain, so far as reasonably practicable, safe working arrangements for its activities. It will identify hazards, assess risk, implement proportionate controls, provide suitable information and consult affected people.
This written statement is maintained as good governance for a founder-led consultancy. It does not assume a particular employee count or replace activity, venue, client or jurisdiction-specific risk assessment.
2. Responsibilities
Max Pocock is accountable for risk assessment, competent advice where needed, suitable equipment, incident response and review. Each person acting for the company must:
- take reasonable care of their own and others' health and safety;
- follow agreed controls and client or venue rules;
- use equipment only as intended;
- report hazards, incidents, near misses and health concerns promptly; and
- stop and escalate work that cannot be carried out safely.
Suppliers and separately engaged specialists remain responsible for their own duties and must cooperate on shared risks.
3. Principal arrangements
Risk assessments will be proportionate to the actual activity. Typical consultancy risks include display-screen and ergonomic work, stress and workload, lone or remote working, travel and driving, slips and trips, fire and emergency arrangements, client premises, events, manual handling and personal safety during engagement activity.
Before unfamiliar, higher-risk or site-based work, the company will confirm responsibilities, hazards, competence, emergency contacts, first-aid arrangements, accessibility needs, insurance and any required protective equipment.
Home and remote work will include suitable workstation, breaks, secure communication and welfare arrangements. Travel will be planned with reasonable time, fatigue and weather considered. A person must not drive or work while impaired.
4. Incidents and emergencies
Immediate safety and emergency services take priority. Incidents and near misses must be recorded sufficiently to understand what happened, meet any reporting duty, support affected people and prevent recurrence. Client, venue, insurer or enforcing-authority notification will be made where required.
5. Consultation, competence and review
Affected people will receive relevant instructions and a route to raise concerns without retaliation. Specialist competent advice will be obtained where risk or law requires expertise beyond the company.
Risk assessments and this statement will be reviewed after an incident, significant change or new information and at least annually.
6. Contact and document control
Health and safety concerns can be sent to info@managed-group.co.uk.
This statement provides proportionate company controls. Stronger client, site, sector and jurisdiction requirements must be confirmed before relevant work.
